All quiet on the Midwestern front…

Landed in Minneapolis today and saw the courthouse building first.

The place is lined with a fence and barbed wire. National guard at check points and high ground in small groups. By 5pm there were no Protesters. An old Black Man shrugged his shoulders and threw up his hands at the question of where they might be…

A group of reporters were near a gate and Chauvin speed off in a white suv so fast nobody could get a picture.

Not finding a ton of community…

Then we went to the George Floyd memorial. Flowers there and a green house.

Near the memorial you can take pictures here, but other pictures of the memorial are asked not to be taken…

The street was fairly quiet… the block fairly small. Smaller than the TV makes it look like. It's still sinking in. Not militant at all. Was fairly somber. Had someone come up asking us to donate for the memorial and probably pocketing the money…

Still grifting even right next to the memorial… and the protests are not daily even in Minneapolis…

This puts it into more perspective… More Stop Line 3 signs here since we are closer

Even the heart of the Protests has the same issues as Seattle. In some ways Seattle might be doing better… We shall see the next few days…
